Not medical advice

I am a patient, not a physician or healthcare professional. Everything on this site is for general information only. It is not medical advice and does not replace a diagnosis or treatment from a qualified healthcare provider.

Always talk with your doctor, nurse practitioner or another qualified provider before starting, stopping or changing any treatment, medication, supplement, exercise or pacing plan. Never ignore professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you read here.

In an emergency

If you think you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. For health advice in most provinces, call 811. If you are in crisis or thinking about suicide, call or text 988, the Suicide Crisis Helpline, available across Canada at any time.

Accuracy of information

I work hard to share accurate, current information from trusted sources and I review listings regularly. Research and services change quickly, so I cannot promise that everything is complete, current or free of errors. Please confirm details such as eligibility, costs, referrals and hours directly with the clinic, study or organization. If you spot an error, please tell me.

Listings and links

Clinics, studies, resources and organizations are listed to help people find information. A listing is not an endorsement or recommendation, and no organization pays to be listed. Links to other websites are provided for convenience. I do not control those websites and I am not responsible for their content, accuracy, privacy practices or accessibility.

Research studies

Studies listed on this site are run by independent researchers. I am not involved in running them, and I do not collect information for them. Before joining any study, read the consent information carefully, ask questions, and talk with your healthcare provider if you are unsure whether it is right for you.

Stories you share

When you send me your story, you confirm that it is your own experience and that you have permission to share any details about other people. You give me permission to publish, edit for length and clarity, and share it on this site and its social media accounts. You keep ownership of your story, and you can ask me to remove it at any time. Personal stories reflect individual experiences and are not medical advice.

Using my content

The writing, design and graphics on this site belong to Long Covid Resources Canada unless another source is named. You are welcome to share links and short quotes with credit and a link back. Please ask before copying whole pages or using the content commercially. Trademarks, logos and materials from other organizations belong to their owners.

Limitation of liability

This site is provided free of charge and as is. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Long Covid Resources Canada and Jaymie Firkus are not responsible for any loss, injury or damage that results from using this site, relying on its information, or using any linked website, clinic, study or service. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. I may update these terms from time to time, and the date at the top shows the latest version. Your privacy is covered by the Privacy Policy.
